Message from our principal, Mr. John Griffith:

March, 2010

Dear Parent/Guardian:

With the school year moving at such a rapid pace, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on a few programs that I am very proud of and wish to thank all who work so hard within our school to make it a great educational environment for children.

Our Science Fair is sure to be a fantastic event with many families enjoying the evening.  The Science Fair encourages students, families and staff to work diligently through the scientific process to create interesting projects.  Many students are taking part in this worthwhile educational endeavor.

I would like to congratulate Mrs. Lybarger, Mrs. Evanoff, Ms. Cole, Mrs. Joyce, Mrs. Locandro, Mrs. Hann and Mrs. Hempsted.  Their classes are the winners of the box top contest and have earned popcorn parties.

We are fighting Cancer.  A group of Renfro staff have a team in the “Relay for Life” sponsored by the American Cancer Society.  If you are interested in supporting our team with a donation, see Mr. Griffith.  Raising money for Cancer research is a great cause.

I encourage all families to join us for “Tech Tour de Renfro”.  This is our technology night where families can tour the school and take part in many technology based activities.  This is fun for the whole family on Thursday, April 15th (6:30-8pm).

Our school raised almost $400 for the relief effort in Haiti.  Students enjoyed being able to wear hats in school, to show their support for the earthquake victims.

Internet safety month is the month of April.  I encourage you to talk with your children about the dangers that can be associated with computers and the need to be safe while using the computer!

Thanks again to the students, parents, PTA and staff
